Longing for Something New (Part 2 of 2)

And here we are….Part 2 of my extremely late posts “Longing for Something New”.  I still say better late than never.  As I mentioned before, I was inspired to return to the long vest pieces when I came across some pictures from an up and coming blogger from my home town. (Check out  Young at Styles)

I paired this black/white non-stretch poly-blend (actual fabric type unknown) with McCalls 2156.

A pattern I once attempted to use YEARS ago but never completed (I believe because of my fear of the button hole).

I didn’t have to do a lot of altering for this pattern besides adding a few inches to fit.  I did not use the patterns facing to allow for button holes.  Instead, I created a slightly wider facing so the right side of the fabric would show when the garment swings open, making sure it connected at the shoulder seam.  I wanted to pair this with some capri pants but I see a knee length red fitted dress in the works to go with this in the future.......I have been longing for something new ;)
