Simplicity 8925 - Stash Busting Chronicles of 2020

I love when the right fabric meets the right pattern.

Pattern:  Simplicity 8925
Fabric: Polyester Knit from my fabric stash

At the beginning of this year, I had planned on working through my pattern stash.  I have SO many patterns that remain uncut.  Which means unused.  So I went through my um....my collection.... and created a list of wrap dress patterns that I wanted to work through to compare.  I chose several of them, whether they would be for casual wear or something for a night out.  I started off with this more recent release of Simplicity.

During my stash busting adventures, I thought this chevron-ish design would be "okay" with this dress.  I just wanted a comfy casual dress.  I had no idea I would like it so much!  Especially since pink is NOT my favorite color.  I felt cute and I wanted to go somewhere.  Well....with the situation we're currently in, somewhere can't happen just yet. So I took pictures in the empty parking lot of The Mall of Georgia.  Sadly, this has been the best time to take blog photos!  I can prance around for pictures without worrying about being looked at like a crazy person!  At least by fewer people.

The dress is a mid-length wrap dress with kimono styled sleeves.  No facing, no lining.  No problems!  I made no alterations to this dress.  None!  I cut it to a size XXL, no inches added.  It was a quick sew with a great end result.  But I must fight the urge to make another dress with this pattern because I'm on a mission to use patterns that I have yet to cut.   So back into the filing cabinet you go, Simplicity 8925.  Don't worry, you will be made again.
