In the south, when the calendar says October, that means we have absolutely no idea what to wear. The transition period between summer and winter clothes involves several months of having ALL of your clothes easily accessible. You can wear a tank top, capris and sandals on Monday but be in a hoodie, jeans and boots on Tuesday.
Layering is fundamental during these times and a cardigan is always an excellent choice.
This cardigan, named Cocoon Cardigan, from Patterns for Pirates was THE EASIEST thing I've made in a long time! I cut AND sewed this along with several other small projects in just one afternoon.
I used a double brushed poly spandex fabric from Knitpop. Oh how I wish I could reupholster my couch and make bed sheets with this fabric. It feels BEYOND amazing. I hesitated to make it into a cardigan because I wanted it to be directly against my skin AT ALL TIMES. But then I remembered, that I would wear it with tanks and camis, so I would still get to feel its baby bottom smooth texture as I wear it.
AND IT HAS POCKETS!!!!
Let me reiterate....this was EASY AND FAST to make. I am going to have SO MANY CARDIGANS this fall and winter!!!! Thanks, P4P!
And thank you Nicole Pharr-Away for taking my pictures!! You guys should go check out her blog. She is an amazing person, with an amazing spirit, and her writing style is always on-point!
