McCall's 7262 - Purple Wool Wrap Jacket

Ya'll!!!  This wool from Minerva.com makes me feel loved!
The warmth!  The weight!  The drape!  The purple!

Pattern:  McCall 7262 -View B
Buttons: Joann Fabrics

I love how heavy and warm wool can be.  But at the same time, I live in the south and on any given day, the temperature may fluctuate by 10 - 15 degrees.  Which means I may need something that will cover me up securely in the mornings, but can open up and let me breathe in the afternoons.  When I saw how McCall 7262 was able to give 2 completely different outer pieces with three buttons and a snap, I knew I had to try it out for myself.

I draped the wool around my shoulders and neck to see how it would lay and knew this would be perfect.  I loved how it provides enough coverage around my neck for "that hawk" as the old folks say....or maybe southern folks.  Either way, what I'm trying to say is, the way the wool gathers around my neck provides the perfect amount of warmth needed for those extra cold and windy days.

The pattern was not bad at all.  I'd recommend it to beginners as their first "coat".   It's a bit more work than just a poncho and more winter functional than a cardigan.  It doesn't require as much work as a coat and yet provides you with the warmth you need.  The directions were easy to follow.  Nothing tricky, in my opinion.

This is actually my second time making this.
I'll post my first one after I finish adding the buttons.
LOL - Stay Tuned...
